Tteokbokki

WHAT IS TTEOKBOKKI?

Tteokbokki is a popular Korean street food made with chewy rice cakes and a spicy-sweet gochujang sauce. It often includes ingredients like fish cakes, green onions, and eggs. It’s warm, flavorful, and loved by many for its savory taste.

Cook time: 20 min
Serving size: 1-2 serving

INGREDIENTS

- 7oz rice cakes (200g)
- 1 stalk green onion
- 3Tbsp TaigerSpoon Sauce
+ 1tsp sesame seeds
- 2 sheets fish cake
- 3/4 cup water (200ml)
+ Half a boiled egg

DIRECTIONS

  1. Add 3/4 cup (200ml) of water to a pot and bring it to a boil. Once it starts boiling, add TaigerSpoon Sauce, rice cakes, and fish cakes. Let it simmer until the rice cakes are cooked through.

  2. Once the rice cakes are cooked, slice the green onion into long, thin pieces and add it to the pot.
TIP. Be careful not to overcook the rice cakes. If they’re overcooked, they’ll become too soft and lose their texture.

  3. Once the green onion is cooked, transfer the dish to a bowl and top with your desired garnish.
TIP. Adding boiled eggs and sesame seeds makes it even more delicious.
